Green Adventures

The farmer's market has finally started! We walked downtown and checked it out. Some disappointment that there wasn't any produce, but we enjoyed looking at all the herbs and flowers. The ecology center brought some animals for the kids to look at and touch. We took the el home (free for kids!) and the kids really enjoyed the ride. They've been on the el before, but it had definitely been awhile, and they couldn't understand why we didn't take it everywhere.

Haircuts, new shoes, swim class. On Sunday we went to Navy Pier for the Green Festival. Jake was helping out at the Climate Cycle booth and I took the kids around. There was a great children's area and we had a lot of fun learning about plants and animals. We put together lunch from free samples (Rambler absolutely loved the hemp bars) and Addy really enjoyed the wide variety of Annie's crackers. The Sierra Club had a polar bear mascot walking around and Josie gave him a hug. Rambler wasn't ready to hug him, but liked saying hi. Addy waved and clapped.
