CA -Take 1

I've been meaning to blog for close to a week now, to chronicle the big CA trip. But, as time goes by, it gets more and more overwhelming, so I've decided to take it one step at a time.

Jake and the kids flew out to CA and spent a few days with Somi and Roy. They kept really busy. One day they went to Adaline's to play on the farm. They got to swim in the neighbor's pool (where Josie's nose met Rambler's head and much blood flowed); they fed the horses and chickens and various birds; and they got rides in the wheelbarrow and on the swing. They all took a trip up north to TrainTown and visited a vineyard as well. Rambler went on a ferris wheel with Jake and then Rambler and Josie went with him on a kiddie coaster. And, of course, the trains were a huge hit. This picture was taken on the ride home from TrainTown and the vineyard.

Then, Jake left with Roy and some of Roy's friends to go backpacking in Yosemite. They were nowhere near the fires and were unaffected by them, except that they were not allowed to build campfires.

Jake told me the name of this peak, but I unfortunately forgot it. It's beautiful though and I'm sure it was a thousand times better in person.
Jake the backpacker. He said that this drop is huge, and the picture doesn't do it justice.
The rockclimbers. I love this picture.
